What is the NPHC?
The NPHC is an umbrella council composed of 9 Black Greek-Lettered Organizations, commonly referred to as the Divine 9.

Our
Story
The National Panhellenic Council (NPHC) was founded on May 10th, 1930 on the campus of Howard University. The Divine 9 was founded by 5 orgs; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. joined in 1931, followed by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. in 1937 and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. in 1996, officially making it the Divine 9. The official colors of the NPHC are Black and White. The purpose of the NPHC is to foster cooperative actions of its members in dealing with matters of mutual concern.
